A medium sized developer are looking for a QS to join their team.

You will be working within private new build Housing or affordable housing focusing on managing commercial risk, costs, and subcontractor relationships to ensure projects are delivered within budget, to high quality standards, and meet contractual requirements. You will act as a crucial link between construction teams, client housing associations, and subcontractors.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Commercial Management & Cost Control: Taking full responsibility for one or more live development schemes, including preparing and monitoring budgets, CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliation), and cash flow forecasts.
  • Procurement & Subcontractor Management: Running subcontractor tender analyses, processing payments, handling dayworks, assessing variations, and managing subcontractor final accounts.
  • Contractual & Legal Matters: Preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), PPQs, and administering JCT contracts (including JCT 2024) to ensure contractual obligations are met throughout the build.
  • Reporting: Presenting accurate financial reporting and CVRs to the Commercial Manager and board.
  • Value Engineering: Proactively working with Technical and Construction teams to find cost-effective solutions and value engineering opportunities.
  • Client Relationship: Liaising directly with Housing Association partners to report on progress, variations, and final costs
